In Oklahoma, public records are available through the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Article 3 of Title 51. This law outlines the specifics in regards to the right of the public to have access to key information in relation to the government's records. In Oklahoma, public records are available to the individual. This information is given upon request. In some cases, a formal, written request is a requirement for gaining access. However, the state's laws do state that individuals must be given access without limitation during business hours, to a level that is considered reasonable.

You can also search online through the state, county or local government's website or a third party to gain information. ·         Governmental records kept regarding businesses are maintained through the Secretary of State, Business Records Department of the Attorney General's Office.
·         Vital statistics are included in the State Department of Health, Vital Records Service.
·         Criminal records are searchable through the OK State Bureau of Investigation, Criminal History Reporting.
·         The state archives are available through the OK Department of Libraries, Archives and Records Management.
·         Court records are available locally or through the Administrative Office of Courts.
